Dinosaurs

After reading a story about dinosaurs, the students began to show a big interest in them so we decided to use dinosaurs as the topic for our next inquiry. In  one of the activities we did, the students designed a dinosaur and then created it using plasticine. We then measured our dinosaur designs using marshmallows! Yum! Here our some of their cool designs!

Play dough

We are in desperate need of some new play dough. If anyone is willing to make some for the class over the march break it would be much appreciated. I can easily send a recipe home with your child if you are interested.
Thanks!!

a few things

Boogie-A-Thon: We have been working had on learning some special dances for the upcoming dance fundraiser (the chicken dance, a greek dance and many more!). Please promote this excellent opportunity for the children. They are having a great time practicing dances and are encouraged to raise money for the school. A reminder to send money in as it is collected to enable us to count the money (and pass out raffle tickets) slowly.

Water Bottle: Please send your child with a refillable water bottle in their lunch each day. For supervision reasons we prefer they have a bottle in the classroom when thirsty then going to the water fountain in the hall.

Co-op Student: We are fortunate enough to have a high school co-op student, Miss Harris, joining our classroom this semester. She will be coming in the afternoons to help out with the class, the children are very excited to have her around.

Winterfest: Due to the cold weather, Winterfest has been rescheduled for Thursday March 6th. We will be outside for an extra hour in the morning on that day so please send you child dressed warmly and with extra dry clothes.
